Lexington North Carolina

The Davidson County Gas-To-Energy Project is a municipal solid waste facility in Lexington, North Carolina.

Operating at a 1.6 MW capacity, the project collects and combusts landfill gas to generate renewable energy. This project captures methane and carbon dioxide that would have otherwise been emitted into the atmosphere, thus reducing greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions. It is estimated to reduce 50,000 tonnes of CO2e annually.
